Josh Wharmby

Josh Wharmby is a dynamic new Liverpool born, London based commercial choreographer, whose innovative and fresh choreography sets the stage alight.

After studying different forms of dance from an early age, he graduated from the prestigious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts under the direction of Sir Paul McCartney, and was immediately in demand as a professional dancer. He has worked steadily in the industry since, appearing in television programmes such as ‘X Factor’, Chatty Man, the National Television Awards, and the Brit Awards among many others, working with many international stars, including Taylor SwiftAlexandra Burke, Nicole Scherzinger,Kylie Minogue, Stooshie, LMFAO, One Direction, Take That and Rita Ora. As well as being very familiar with working within a tv studio, Josh has had much experience performing at theatres and bigger venues, including Wembley Stadium, London’s 02 arena and the MEN arena.

Josh has worked with numerous choreographers, including the world acclaimed American choreographer Brian Friedman & Beyonce‘s resident choreographer JaQuel Knight. In 2015, he was assistant choreographer on the international Disney movie ‘Tini’, working alongside creative director Jerry Reeve. His particular linear style of choreography worked very well on the big screen, so he was an important and welcome asset to the creative team.

His diverse knowledge of different performance canvases allows him to choreograph to as small or as large a scale as required, so when he was offered the job of assistant choreographer to Shaun Niles and creative director Aicha McKenzie for the Rugby World Cup closing ceremony in 2016, his inventive, powerfulchoreography and his knowledge of working big stages and venues enabled him to translate his ideas easily into a larger than life performance at Twickenham Stadium. Most recently he was assistant choreographer on ITV’s newest dance show ‘Dance Dance Dance’ and went on to become choreographer of Season 3 of ‘Dance Dance Dance’ Holland.

He has the unique ability of producing original, spellbinding choreography that reflects todays trends yet keeps the integrity of the style with phenomenal results.

His dedication to his craft and genuine love for what he does, along with his professional, hardworking and down to earth attitude make him a respected colleague and a favourite ‘go to’ guy to get the job done!
