The CYD? Masterclass Games will be returning on the the 16th June 2024 at a brand new venue, the Winter Gardens Blackpool!

Dance schools & individual dancers from across the UK can compete for BRONZE, SILVER OR GOLD medals in our renowned CYD? Masterclasses! Dancers will have the opportunity to create the ultimate dance timetable and choose from over 44 masterclasses delivered by top industry professionals!

HOW IT WORKS

STEP ONE

ENTER THE GAMES

Dancers enter the Masterclass Games by participating in the classes. Prior the event, dancers will have the opportunity to create the ultimate dance timetable from over 44 masterclasses in a variety of styles. Dancers can compete in 3 age categories, these include Junior 7-9, Inter 10-13 and Senior 14-18. Dancers aged 19+ are more than welcome to attend however won’t be able to compete.

STEP TWO

LET THE JUDGING COMMENCE

During the masterclasses, dancers are judged on the choreography learnt during that session, therefore nothing is pre prepared giving everyone an equal opportunity. If dancers do not wish to be judged during any or all sessions, dancers can take off their competitor wristband and just enjoy the class without the pressure of competing.

STEP THREE

FOLLOW THE LEADERBOARD

At the end of each masterclass, our CYD? Faculty member will award 3 bronze, 2 silver and 1 gold CYD? Medal. To encourage all abilities, medals won’t always be awarded to the most technically trained dancers as it’s important to also recognise a dancers work ethic, individuality and performance. The results will then be officially counted & added to the live medal table.

STEP FOUR

THE CLOSING CEREMONY

The main trophies, awards, certificates, scholarships & prizes will be presented at the end of the day during our CYD? Presentation Ceremony. Just like the Olympics, the ceremony will include podium presentations, CYD? anthems, pyro’s & even a flag-bearer parade.

AWARDS

For dance schools & individual dancers the aim is to top the leader board & win as many medals as possible during the event. Medal results are officially counted throughout the day & added to our live medal table displayed on the big screen in the main arena so you can keep track of your progress.

The doors will open at approximately 8.15am, our introduction will then take place before the first set of Masterclasses which begin at 9am! The day will end at approximately 6pm after the awards ceremony. We recommend that all schools attend the awards ceremony as we have lots of awards on offer!

Please note, you don’t have to attend the introduction in the morning, as long as you are there 15 mins before your first class that is fine!

These tickets are for dancers not attending with their dance school (suitable for ages 7+) Spectator tickets can also be purchased here.
