If you are looking for new experiences for your school, our convention provides a positive, friendly environment that will leave dancers feeling inspired. As a dance school you can compete (optional), take class with industry leading professionals and meet all the latest brands & colleges in our dance exhibition.
COMPETITION
The ultimate Group Dance Competition! CYD? is a renowned competition that welcomes all standards and genres. The top 3 Junior & top 3 Senior winners from each Regional go through to the final at our Super Convention! Whether you are new to competing or have a lot of experience, we welcome everyone! All we ask is that dancers are aged 8 upwards and you have a minimum of 6 in your team! All of the dancers in your competing groups will each receive a certificate.
RULES
You can enter two groups into the competition – 1 Junior (ages 8 to 13) & 1 Senior (ages 14+). All routines should only be an absolute maximum of 3.5 minutes. (It’s fine to be less!)
There is a minimum of 6 dancers per group with a maximum of 40. All styles are welcome. If you qualify, you must be able to attend the finals in October.
SCORING
NEW FOR 2023! The scoring & adjudication at our Regional Competitions will now be based on 4 criteria: – Technique, Choreography, Presentation & Overall Impression.
We have introduced a new scoring system that will allow you to work towards the different levels offering you the chance to improve on your performance each year. Your score/ level will be emailed to you after your Regional Convention.
MASTERCLASSES
Our CYD? choreographers & dance educators are the best in the business, we hand select our faculty based on their teaching experience. Each student can create their own dance timetable from a variety of styles. All Masterclass capacities are capped to ensure a positive experience. We welcome dancers from the age of 5.
EXHIBITION
The CYD? exhibition is packed full of top performing arts colleges, dance experts and dancewear brands. Whether it’s the newest dancewear collection you’re looking for or career advice, we have everything you will need under one roof! We also have exclusive limited edition CYD? merchandise available!
You can have up to 4 free teacher tickets. You will need to reserve your place with a £50 deposit then collect entry ticket numbers & submit these on the link below no later than 8 weeks before your chosen convention (dancers purchase their own masterclasses individually)

A CYD? Regional day runs as follows: from 8am to approximately 4pm, Masterclasses run with leading industry dance professionals. In between Masterclasses, dancers can shop and browse all things dance related in our exhibition. At the end of the day from approximately 4pm our Dance Schools Competition and Awards Ceremony takes place, with the day ending around 6pm.

As a dance school you can come along without taking part in the competition! You can take part in all of our amazing masterclasses, browse our dance exhibition and watch college and dance school performances in a friendly, positive environment! If you bring a group of 6 dancers or more, we will give you free teacher tickets too!
