Come and join the UK’s biggest & best touring dance convention as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary! 🎉

If you are looking for new experiences for your school, our convention provides a positive, friendly environment that will leave dancers feeling inspired. The CYD? convention experience is unique and unlike any other event out there & we now have over 500 schools join us per year with 27,000 dance enthusiasts attending our events! 

In 2022, the top 3 Junior & top 3 Senior winners from each Regional will qualify for the finals and compete against other dance schools from across the UK for the chance to win the CYD? Champion of Champions title! The finals are being held on October 15th & 16th at the CYD? Super Convention at the M&S bank arena, Liverpool!

What's Involved?

COMPETITION

The ultimate Group Dance Competition! CYD? is a renowned competition that welcomes all standards and genres. The top 3 Junior & top 3 Senior winners from each Regional go through to the final at our Super Convention! Whether you are new to competing or have a lot of experience, we welcome everyone! All we ask is that dancers are aged 8 upwards and you have a minimum of 6 in your team!

MASTERCLASSES

Our CYD? choreographers & dance educators are the best in the business, we hand select our faculty based on their teaching experience. Each student will get a Masterclass in Contemporary, Commercial & Musical Theatre. All Masterclass capacities are capped to ensure a positive experience. We welcome & encourage dancers of all abilities from the age of 8 upwards.

EXHIBITION

Our CYD? exhibition is packed full of top performing arts college, dance experts and dancewear brands. Whether it’s the newest dancewear collection you’re looking for or career advice, we have everything you will need under one roof! Dancers can join in the performances & competitions on our demo stage and they will also get the chance to watch the top UK dance colleges perform on the main stage.

COMPETITION RULES

1

You can enter two groups into the competition – 1 Junior (ages 8 to 13) & 1 Senior (ages 14+).

All routines should only be an absolute maximum of 3.5 minutes. (It’s fine to be less!)

There is a minimum of 6 dancers per group with a maximum of 40. All styles are welcome.

NEW FOR 2022!

Would you like your competition performance professionally filmed?
 
Every performance we film will be captured using a high definition, broadcast quality, professional camera. Not only that, this year we are introducing live audio feedback too! One of our judges will pass on corrections & offer constructive critique on your performance as it happens! This will then be recorded, edited and available after the event for you to download. The cost is £30 per performance, this includes 2 video versions – (one with audio feedback, one without) and you can add this option on your ticket booking form!

Don't want to compete?

If you don’t wish to enter the competition with a group, you can bring your dancers along on a SILVER ticket.

This will give each dancer 3 Masterclasses, Exhibition Entry and you can stay and watch the dance school competition too! 

Create new memories for your school, students and parents in a fun and friendly environment. 

£32 per dancer

And for all parents, family and friends who wish to come along and spectate, they will need to purchase a BRONZE ENTRY ticket.

This will give them entry to the masterclasses, competition and exhibition (Teachers & children under 5 enter for free).

Teachers bringing a group to compete can have up to 3 free teacher tickets.
